Asiatic citrus psyllid

Diaphorina citri

Asiatic citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri) is an insect pest of citrus. It is a native of Asia and was first detected in Florida in 1998.

Extraction of sap and injection of salivary toxin when feeding produces malformed growth of leaves and shoots. This psyllid is a vector for Huanglongbing or Citrus Greening, a destructive disease of citrus.
