Japanese stilt grass (Microstegium vimineum) is an invasive plant of Shade, low elevation, and moist to mesic soils . It is a native of Asia and was first detected in Tennessee in approximately 1918.

An invader of forested floodplains, also found in ditches, fields, forest edges and trails.
