Asian pear blight

Erwinia pyrifoliae

Asian pear blight (Erwinia pyrifoliae) is a bacterial pathogen of Japanese pear trees. It is a native of Asia.

Symptoms of infection by this pathogen include necrotic, black growths on leaves, fruitlets, and branches. Pest status of this pathogen is uncertain, especially where it is found in Korea.
