Oak wilt

Bretziella fagacearum

Oak wilt (Bretziella fagacearum) is a fungal pathogen of oak trees. It is a native of North America and was first detected in North Carolina in 1951.

Once infected, mortality may occur in a few weeks for the red oaks and Texas live oaks or in several years for the white oaks.
